Testosterone provides many benefits including helping build muscle and increasing sex drive. It has also been linked with success, suggesting men with higher testosterone are higher achievers.
Unfortunately though, testosterone levels generally decline gradually as men age, taking it’s benefits with it as it goes.
how to boost your testosterone naturally
- Lift heavy weights – (squats in particular trigger the release of testosterone and human growth hormone)
- Get plenty of sleep
- Maintain a healthy body weight
- Manage stress levels
- Limit alcohol intake
If you have everything above handled and your testosterone levels are still not where you want them to be, you are probably considering other more drastic measures. Testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) in particular is becoming more widely used.
Although, TRT has proven to be immensely valuable to countless men, it is not without it’s downsides. In my mind the biggest of these is that once you start TRT, you will likely need to rely on the treatment for the rest of your life.
supplements to boost your testosterone naturally
This is why I when I heard of some promising natural supplements that help boost your testosterone, I was excited to try them. The first one I tried was Tongkat Ali, a long used herbal supplement in Malaysia.
It just so happened that I had my bloodwork done just before I started taking Tongkat Ali and then had it checked again about 9 months in. I was hoping to see at least a modest increase in my testosterone levels, but I was blown away by the results. My total testosterone levels increased by 43% to over 1000 ng/dL!
The success of Tongkat Ali got me interested in another testosterone boosting supplement promoted by Andrew Huberman, Fadogia Agrestis. I have not yet gotten my bloodwork done since I started, so I’m not 100% sure if this supplement will provide a further boost for me.
my dosage
Tongkat Ali – One capsule (400 mg) daily with my morning coffee with no formal schedule for cycling off.
Fadogia Agrestis – One capsule (300 mg) daily with lunch, which is half the dose recommended by Huberman. However, my preference is find the minimum effective dose, versus maxing out.

In my experience, Tongkat Ali fully qualifies as some cool shit that actually works! I’m hopeful that Fadogia Agrestis will prove to be as well!
